Your Guide to Recent Changes at the Well Said Clinic

Written by: Megan Smith / Treatment / October 2019

If you are a regular client of our clinic, you may have noticed some new developments recently. Our clinic always strives to improve your access to our services, by making things more convenient for you. These changes fall under three main themes: expansion, staffing changes, and billing.

One very exciting recent development is that we are now seeing clients at a variety of new locations!

For some clients who live along the TTC’s Line 1, or who live and work outside of the downtown core of Toronto, accessing our head office on Bloor may not be convenient. For these clients, we are now offering multiple additional sites, that will allow much-improved access to our services! Currently, each clinic is staffed for one day each week, but as we continue to expand we hope to offer increased availability at our satellite locations.

We currently operate three satellite offices, located in easily accessible locations in Midtown, North York, and Vaughan for the convenience of our clients:

  • Yonge and Sheppard Office (5000 Yonge St.): This location is currently staffed by Dain Hong, a level 1 clinician, who is accepting bookings between 9AM and 5PM on Fridays.

  • Yonge and Eglinton Office (2300 Yonge St.): This location is currently staffed by Megan Smith, a level 2 clinician, who is accepting bookings between 12PM and 8PM on Wednesdays.

  • Vaughan Office (400 Applewood Cres.): This location is currently staffed by our clinic director, Melissa James, who currently accepts bookings on Tuesdays, by request only.

These sites are available for bookings by phone or using our online booking tool (at https://www.torontospeechtherapy.com/online-booking).

A new registered speech-language pathologist has recently joined our team. We look forward to working with her moving forward!

Look out for more information about our new clinician, including a bio on our site and additional availability in our online booking system, in the weeks to come!

In order to reflect the experience that Megan has gained since starting at Well Said, her rate has changed from Level 1 to Level 2. This is a major milestone in her career at the clinic.

We recently said goodbye to one of our staff members. We will miss having Julie around the office, and we wish her all the best in her new adventures!

Thanks to advocacy from our national professional association, speech-language pathologists are now able to bill directly to many insurance companies. If your health insurance covers speech-language pathology services and is issued from one of the companies below, we can now bill your insurance and charge you only your co-pay amount.

These are our participating insurers:

  • Great West Life

  • Desjardins

  • Green Shield Canada

  • ClaimSecure

  • Johnston Group

  • Maximum benefit

  • iA Financial Group

  • CINUP

  • Chambers of Commerce

  • the Canadian Construction Workers Union

  • Labourers International Union Toronto

  • Labourers International Union Local 183

  • First Canadian Insurance Corporation

This is a significant expansion in insurance coverage for our clients! If your insurer is listed above, feel free to reach out to your speech-language pathologist to request the paperwork required to start the direct billing process.
